It seems with Jason Veritek ailing, and with the other emergency catchers on the DL (Alex Cora and Mike Lowell, respectively) Dustin Pedroia has come forward, offering to catch if needed.  Apparently, the last time he did it was in high school.

 At the new Yankee Stadium, reportedly a construction worker buried a Red Sox t-shirt and encased it in cement under the dugout in order to jinx the new stadium.

YAAAAAAAAAAY!  The Red Sox won their home opener today, and the first pitch was thrown out by non other than Bill Buckner who got a rousing standing O from the Fenway crowd.  It's enough to bring tears to your eyes.  And believe you me, I got very misty watching it (thanks to the cool people at NESN).
